Build Day #3: Alumnae

On Saturday, I realized today just how strong the Bike & Build alumnae community is. There are three members on the team who have already done Bike & Build in the past on different routes. This build day was just a short walk from the church, whose gymnasium floor we slept on. I worked on siding the whole day - and was well trained through ASB! At lunch, a Bike & Build alum who lived in the area joined us, and told wild stories from his summer on Bike & Build.
Siding!
Dinner was hosted at another alum's parents house in the area. They served a taco bar and made cupcakes too! 270 is how many miles we have ridden so far, and 4,265 is the total mileage.

For dinner conversation, the team decided on spirit fruits, and apparently I'm a grape. Then we moved to spirit animals, and the consensus was that I'm an otter. We're getting used to being covered in slime (sweat, gatorade, sunblock, chamois butter) and grime (dirt, bugs, food, sawdust, paint), so we felt uncivilized in such a nice home. Luckily, I found a dress at an antique shop for $5! I'm excited to enter such an awesome alumnae network... just from my SC2SC'13 team, I have riding buddies in 15 other states!
